Legacy

Legacy is an iconic and trusted Australian charity dedicated to supporting the families of our veterans.

Founded in 1923, Legacy was built on a promise made by a soldier to his dying mate in the trenches of WWI to, “look after the missus and the kids”.

Today, that promise sees Legacy and its volunteers provide long-term social, emotional, developmental and financial support to over 43,000 people across Australia.

Because no spouse or child of a veteran should suffer financial or social disadvantage as a result of their loved one’s death or injury from recognised military service.

Legacy is the only organisation of its kind in the world and relies on donations, like those made during Run Army, to continue its vital work for veterans’ families.
